Liposuction is performed at the neck and the jowls to remove excess fat and improve the contour of the jawline.
In order to perform the procedure, a liposuction cannula is placed through two very tiny incisions behind the ears and/or a tiny incision under the chin. The incisions are several millimeters long and are typically not noticeable once healed. The procedure can be performed under local anesthesia or under twilight/general anesthesia. The recovery is minimal.
Dr. Foulad specifically uses a micro-liposuction technique with smaller cannulas. Although this takes longer to perform, the incisions are able to be made smaller and there is less risk of lumps and depressions forming after the procedure.

Neck and Jowl Liposuction
This case involves our lovely patient who desired to reduce the excess tissue under her chin and to improve the contour of her jawline. I performed liposuction at the neck and jowls to remove the excess fat and create a beautiful jawline. She is excited about such a significant improvement with no noticeable scars.
