What Is Sculptra?
Sculptra is an injectable dermal filler developed to fill in facial age lines and address facial depressions. It is used to improve the appearance of facial lines, folds, and hollows to help you look younger.
Unlike hyaluronic acid type fillers that achieve instant volumization through the injection of a gel-like substance, Sculptra is considered a collagen stimulator. Its main ingredient, poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), facilitates gradual and natural collagen production. This truly sets it apart from many other fillers. Sculptra’s results can last up to two years and in some cases even longer.
Ideal Candidates
You are a good candidate for Sculptra if you want to regain lost facial volume. A great area for treatment is at the midface to volumize sunken cheeks. In addition to achieving fuller cheeks, Sculptra can also be used to address jowls, as well as fill in depressions at the jawline and treat the nasolabial folds (smiles lines). Because Sculptra stimulates collagen production, it can also be used to thicken the skin and improve skin quality.
However, Sculptra is not for everyone. It is not recommended for people with allergies to any of Sculptra’s ingredients or those who suffer from hypertrophic or keloid scarring. It is also not advised for people under 18 and pregnant or breastfeeding women.

What Is the Treatment Like?
During a Sculptra treatment session, we will clean the target injection sites and use numbing to make the procedure as comfortable as possible. We will then inject the filler under the skin in the targeted areas using a very gentle technique.
What Is Aftercare Like?
After the Sculptra treatment, you can typically resume most normal activities. However, it is recommended to avoid strenuous activity (such as going to the gym) for a couple of days. You may notice some swelling or bruising at the injection site. If this occurs, it usually resolves within a few days to a week, but can take longer in some cases.
We usually recommend approximately three Sculptra treatment sessions, spaced out by about 4 to 6 weeks. The effect of Sculptra gradually takes place over several months. The number of treatments depends on each individual case and how well your body responds with collagen production after each treatment. After several months, you will be able to enjoy the incredibly natural-looking results of your Sculptra treatments.
